Biography
Yi Luo is a PhD student in the Language and Literacy Education program at the University of British Columbia. She holds an MA in Children’s Literature from UBC, a BA in English Language and Literature from Renmin University of China, and a TESOL Professional Certificate from Arizona State University. Her research explores multimodality, social justice, and language education, with a focus on racialized youth. Professionally, she has worked as a K–12 English teacher, and has extensive experience in academic event coordination, and is the current GAA for the Online Master of Education in Literacy Education program and the Arts-based Educational Research (ABER) Group at LLED.
