Biography
Karin is a passionate educator, teaching user experience design and design for good to undergraduate students. She is interested in utilizing technology as a means to enhance the student learning experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Digital Media (MDM) from the Centre of Digital Media in Vancouver. Presently, she teaches design courses at the University of Waterloo, Emily Carr University of Art + Design and UBC’s School of Information. In conjunction with her teaching endeavours, Karin is pursuing her doctoral degree, concentrating her research focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to support comprehensive and ongoing student assessment. In 2017, Karin was honoured with an Excellence in Teaching award in recognition of her dedication in the classroom. She also reads voraciously and drinks copious amounts of black coffee.
