LLED will soon be hosting our first informal Arts-based Educational Research (ABER) lunch-time gathering of the year! We continue to do this in the Department to advance this important area of research, scholarship, and teaching. All faculty, graduate students, and staff are invited to attend regardless of whether you are currently engaged in arts-based research or are just interested and want to experiment with arts-based work, find inspiration, seek collaborations, and so on.
As such, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming hybrid interactive session titled “Origins of Artists-Scholars”, where we will reflect on and discuss our journeys into scholarship as artists. This session is an opportunity to trace our cultural and ancestral roots, explore our inspirations, and share the influences that have shaped our paths as artist-scholars. Additionally, in the spirit of connecting our origins to our futures as artist-scholars, as part of this event, we welcome you to contribute by sharing questions, resources, ideas, imaginations, and complications for arts-based work involving AI. Those attending this session will be given an opportunity to play with invitations to engage with collaborative arts-based reflective activities – if they so desire. Likewise, if you have a story or experience you would like to share about your practice as an artist-scholar, please feel welcome to bring it to the discussion.
As an additional note, if you are a current or prospective group member who has a topic that you would like us to discuss as a group, please feel so welcome to get in touch with Amber and Harini. We look forward to a meaningful and inspiring session with all of you!
