From Conference Abstract to Published Article: A Workshop on Developing Abstracts with Dr. Bonny Norton

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a workshop on developing abstracts at the end of the month! With the help of the evaluation rubric to be used for the LLED Research Conference in April 2023, Dr. Bonny Norton will discuss strategies that might be useful in the development of conference abstracts. She will frame the discussion with reference to the wider publication process.
Whether you plan to submit an abstract for the LLED Graduate student conference or if you would like tips to help you prepare publications, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about writing effective abstracts!

Join us Monday, February 27th at 12:30pm on Zoom!

Bonny Norton, FRSC, is a professor and distinguished university scholar in the Department of Language and Literacy Education, University of British Columbia, Canada. She is also research advisor of the African Storybook and 2006 co-founder of the Africa Research Network on Applied Linguistics and Literacy. She is internationally recognized for her theories of identity and language learning and her construct of investment. A Fellow of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), she was the first recipient in 2010 of the Senior Research Leadership Award of AERA’s Second Language Research SIG. In 2016, she was co-recipient of the TESOL Award for Distinguished Research and elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
