Visuals of Love, Care and More: Graphic Facilitation for EDID Pedagogy

To equip educators with innovative anti-oppression strategies and to offer FoE members an open and safe space for meaningful EDID conversations, our event will:

1) introduce the concept of “graphic facilitation”;

2) offer a drawing workshop by a guest artist from the 2SLGBTQ+ community on learning simple approaches to drawings/doodles and visualizing abstract concepts related to equity and diversity;

3) provide a story-sharing session of FoE speakers’ anti-oppression experiences;

4) accommodate a respectful and judgment-free space for socials and craft-making.

When: November 9, 2023 (Thursday), 2:00-5:00 PM

Where: Neville Scarfe 1130, UBC

What to expect:

  • Simple drawing skills of abstract concepts to be applied in teaching or presentation
  • EDID discussions with your fellow educators at FoE
  • Snacks and unique souvenirs of your own drawings
