Biography


Sadia Shad is a PhD student at the Department of Language and Literacy Education. Before starting her PhD program, Sadia has taught as an English Lecturer at a public university in Pakistan for eight years. Her area of specialization is TESL and she is curious to examine issues related to Teaching English as a Second Language particularly in a Pakistani context. For her PhD research, she is interested in language teacher identity and its relationship with teaching L2 culture and intercultural competence. Sadia is also interested in Discourse Analysis, and theories of Social Constructivism and Critical Literacy.
