Please join us in congratulating Dr. Melissa R. Hunte on being a recipient of the 2025 Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) Fund Competition.

The 2025 Campus as a Living Lab (CLL) Fund Competition called for visionary approaches to help British Columbia and Canada respond and adapt to the pressing sustainability challenges. This year’s competition drew faculty and staff from more than 28 academic departments and operational units across UBC Vancouver, yielding eight exceptional projects funded by a total of $500k.

Modeling Changes in Student AI-Engagement Profiles Following an AI-Awareness Intervention
Small Project Stream: $30,000

Developing strategies that promote sustained learning while helping students make informed, intentional choices about AI is central to UBC’s Teaching, Learning, and Research, priorities. This project supports these core commitments by examining whether educational interventions can influence when and how students use AI to support deep human learning, and assessing their relative impact across student groups.
