Biography
My doctoral research is an extension of my Master’s of Education Autoethnographic research and Indigenous Podcast Project conducted at Thompson Rivers University, Tk’emlúps te Secwe̓pemc territory. My current research employs Podcasting as Social Scholarship to better inform teacher candidates with Indigenous perspectives. I situate myself as a Second-Generation Filipina Canadian, educator, and graduate researcher. Through time, Indigenous mentorship, self-reflexivity, and allyship support, I now know my responsibilities towards Reconciliation. Relational Accountability (Wilson, 2008) and understanding the Language of Reconciliation (Lamoureux, 2017). I aim to assist teachers candidates with the tools necessary to become agents of change. I am grateful to my academic supervisor Dr. Jan Hare, Dean pro tem and committee members Dr. Kedrick James and Dr. Maureen Kendrick whose expertise and commitment will guide this work in a good way.
