Presentation of the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Palmes Académiques
Dr. Jan Hare, Dean pro tem, UBC Faculty of Education, cordially invites you to the Palmes Académiques ceremony to honour three educators, founders of the Centre de la Francophonie de UBC, who will be awarded the insignia of Chevalier in the Order of the Palmes Académiques.
The Order of the Palmes Académiques is a French decoration created by Napoleon to honour outstanding educators.
Mr. Nicolas Baudouin, Consul General of France in Vancouver, will bestow the insignia of Chevalier in the Order of the Palmes Académiques on:
Dr. Monique Bournot-Trites, Associate Professor, Department of Language and Literacy Education, UBC
Dr. André Lamontagne, Emeritus Professor in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies, and first Director of the Centre de la francophonie de UBC
Dr. Judith Plessis, Executive Director Emerita, Continuing Studies, UBC
