LLED Apprentice Workshop: Job Search with Dr. Ron Darvin
Are you curious about LLED ex-graduates’ professional journey? Would you like to gain an insight of what job search feels like after graduation? Join us for an apprenticeship workshop with Ron Darvin, a former PhD student at LLED.
In the first half of this workshop, Ron will talk about his experience on job search after graduation. The next half will be a Q/A with the audience.
Ron Darvin is an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics at the English Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include identity, investment, digital literacies and social class, and his work has been published in Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, TESOL Quarterly, and Journal of Language, Identity, and Education. Ron graduated from LLED in 2019 and was supervised by Bonny Norton. His PhD dissertation, Digital identities, educational inequities, was recognized with the 2020 Dissertation Award by the American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL). He also received the 2017 Emerging Scholar Award of the Language and Social Processes SIG of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
