A Collective Exploration of Place-Based Literacies
A Hybrid Event

In recent years, place has become central to critical pedagogy. Based on collective learning from a graduate course that focused on place and literacies, in this hybrid session, graduate students will share their inquiries into how language and literacy are related and interconnected with place, community, history and identity. Using tools such as photography, videography, and storytelling, students will illuminate how being attentive to place and its languages may enhance our awareness and responsiveness to issues surrounding social and ecological justice.

Complete list of presenters at the event include: Melanie Wong, Iris Berger, Kelsey Lee, Leah Meunier, Sam Ross, Simryn Mann, Ronald Mathai
