Lost in the swirl of September was the news that Dr. Wendy Carr was awarded the Robert Roy Award by the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT). The award, to quote from the announcement, “recognizes individuals who, by their commitment and dedication, advance in an extraordinary manner the field of second language education.” The announcement goes on to acknowledge Wendy’s “influence in shaping second language teaching and learning in Canada through teaching French, defining research in language learning methodology and providing leadership in local, provincial, national and international organizations.”
