Literacy and multimodality across global sites

Congratulations to Maureen Kendrick on the publication of her new book, Literacy and multimodality across global sites (Routledge, 2016).

As Claudia Mitchell notes in the Foreword, “Kendrick has revisited various research projects in a variety of research sites, ranging from thick ethnographies with one child and her family in a western Canadian city to work with girls and young women as journalists in Kenya. In so doing she has reinterpreted the work in the context of the emergence of new studies and new theories, particularly in the area of multimodality.”

The book is concise but packed with children’s drawings and voices, and richly theorized throughout.
