Successful completion of these courses leads to a TESL Certificate (coursework only), offered by LLED. Students opting for one of these courses can complete the program by taking the other 6-credit course next summer or 3-credit courses (LLED 489A; 489B; 478A; 478B) offered during Winter terms or Summer Term 1. LLED 478C (6 credits) is also offered in Winter Term 1. Optional LLED 399: Practicum is offered during Winter Term 2.

About the Certificate
TESL Certificate students gain experience and understanding in such areas as: instructional methodology, curriculum design, second language assessment, second language acquisition, language socialization, and intercultural communication. The required courses are designed for pre- and in-service teachers and those who are interested in teaching local and international students in Canada or overseas. More information can be found here.
