Please note, this program is currently in development
The Department of Language & Literacy Education at UBC Faculty of Education is developing a Doctor of Education (EdD) program titled “Leadership in Language and Literacy Education”. The program will be organized around the theme Language and literacy learning across the life span.
The focus of the program will be on supporting educators and other professionals with responsibility for language and literacy programs and/or those who aspire to leadership positions as educators, policy analysts, learning resource specialists, curriculum designers, community literacy providers, Indigenous community program coordinators, and others who want to engage with theory and research and apply it through their practice in a range of diverse settings.
This is intended as a part-time program with a delivery model that meets the needs of busy professionals. We are considering a blended mode course delivery with some on-site (UBC Vancouver campus) and some online components. For example:
- Summer Institutes – UBC Vancouver campus
- Fall/Winter courses – a face-to-face weekend at UBC Vancouver to start the course, online throughout the term, and a closing face-to-face weekend at UBC Vancouver.
Input from the Field:
Please consider taking a short (5-10 minute) survey to provide feedback on the structure and delivery of the program.
If you wish to receive email updates on this program and be informed about the application process send your name and email address to Christopher Fernandez.
