Biography

Magdalena Vergara, is a Ph.D candidate in the department of Language and Literacy at the University of British Columbia. Her doctoral work focuses on questions around text mobilization, interpretation, and representation of Latin American texts in Vancouver’s classrooms in tandem with the critical literacies. She was a secondary teacher in Santiago, Chile where she taught language and literature to children and adolescents.
